For the price, the 60L Rock Climbing Backpack by Camp Hike Trail offers fantastic value for money. It has all the features I need for extended climbing trips – ample space, a comfortable carrying system, and dedicated attachment points for my climbing gear. The materials seem high-quality, and the construction feels solid. While some higher-end options might be lighter, this pack provides excellent functionality at a budget-friendly price point. Highly recommend for price-conscious climbers who need a reliable backpack for longer adventures!

The 40L Rock Climbing Backpack by Camp Hike Trail is surprisingly comfortable to wear, even when fully loaded. The padded shoulder straps distribute weight evenly, and the adjustable hip belt (not available on all 40L models) takes the pressure off my lower back. This is a big plus for long days at the gym or the crag. The hydration sleeve keeps me hydrated on the go, and the external attachment points are conveniently placed. A great choice for climbers who prioritize comfort during their climbing sessions!

Both the 40L and 60L options of the Camp Hike Trail Rock Climbing Backpack are incredibly well-made. The durable materials inspire confidence, and the construction feels very secure. I can tell these packs will last for many climbing adventures to come. The breathable back panel is a lifesaver on hot days, and the internal compartments are great for keeping things organized. Highly recommend for climbers who value a reliable and long-lasting backpack, no matter which size you choose!.

For my recent week-long climbing trip, I opted for the 60L Rock Climbing Backpack from Camp Hike Trail. The extra space was a lifesaver! I could comfortably fit all my climbing gear, food, and camping essentials for the trip. The durable materials held up well to the rough terrain, and the comfortable straps ensured I wasn’t weighed down on long hikes to the climbing areas. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because a separate sleeping bag compartment would be nice for better organization. Overall, a fantastic backpack for extended climbing adventures!

What a nice rucksack! It’s pretty light at 1.1kg and is comfy as you’d like with around 7/8kg. The entry is a roll up which is easy enough but the little pull ropes which try to cover the roll up are a bit fiddly as is the rope which crisscrosses the back, but they are easily removed.there’s a buckle strap across the back which does something I suppose but is not obvious to me.the bottle carrier on the shoulder strap is a bit tight for a 500ml bottle but with a struggle does go in but it fits an i13pm perfectly! Well pleased.

FAQ Backpack Buying Guide

Top 10 FAQs for Buying a Backpack:

Top 10 FAQs for Buying a Backpack:

  1. What size backpack do I need? This depends on the purpose of your backpack. Daypacks are typically 15-30 liters, while overnight backpacks range from 30-50 liters. Multi-day backpacking trips often require packs between 50-75 liters, and expedition backpacks can exceed 75 liters. Consider the length of your trip and the amount of gear you'll be carrying.

  2. What backpack style should I choose? There are two main styles: internal frame and external frame. Internal frame packs distribute weight on your hips, offering better weight distribution and comfort for heavier loads. External frame packs prioritize ventilation and airflow, ideal for hot climates or situations where air circulation is important.

  3. What features are important in a backpack? Look for features like adjustable straps (shoulder, hip belt, sternum strap), well-padded shoulder straps and back panel for comfort, load-lifting hip belt for weight distribution, multiple compartments for organization, hydration pack compatibility, and rain cover for protection.

  4. What material should my backpack be made from? Most backpacks are made from synthetic materials like nylon or polyester. These materials are lightweight, durable, and water-resistant. Look for backpacks with higher denier ratings for increased durability.

  5. How much weight can my backpack comfortably hold? A good rule of thumb is to keep your backpack weight under 20% of your body weight. This ensures you can comfortably carry your pack for extended periods. Consider your fitness level and adjust the recommended weight limit accordingly.

  6. How do I properly fit a backpack? Visit a reputable outdoor store and get sized by a staff member. The shoulder straps should sit comfortably on your shoulders, and the hip belt should rest on your hips, not your waist. Adjust the straps to ensure the pack sits snugly against your back without restricting movement.

  7. What are some tips for packing my backpack? Pack heavier items closer to your back for better balance. Place frequently used items in easily accessible compartments. Distribute weight evenly throughout the pack. Utilize compression straps to cinch down your load and maintain stability.

  8. How can I protect my backpack from the elements? Look for backpacks with a built-in rain cover or purchase one separately. When not in use, store your backpack in a cool, dry place to prevent mold or mildew growth.

  9. How do I clean my backpack? Follow the care instructions provided by the manufacturer. Usually, spot cleaning with a damp cloth and mild soap is sufficient. For deeper cleaning, some backpacks might be hand-washable or machine-washable on a gentle cycle. Always air dry your backpack completely before storing it.

  10. What are some reputable backpack brands? There are many great backpack brands on the market. Popular choices include Osprey, Gregory, The North Face, Kelty, Deuter, and REI Co-op. Consider factors like brand reputation, price point, warranty, and features when making your selection.
